WORK CYCLE

Females chasing skirts

Cooking aprons and ties, dating from the 70 to 90ties, are combined to hybrid objects that can either be hung in the room or can be worn.

The gender specific symbolism of these fabrics as well as their function as a “uniform” are used to question as well as to transform role stereotypes.

Following the work cycle female knights, the works of female chasing skirts deal with role cliches, but also with socio-political and economic power systems, considering the aspects dependency and powerlessness associated with these systems.
